§ 407-67. Taximeter Rate To Be Available at All Times.
Taxicabs may not use and offer the hourly rate or the special trip rate unless offering also the taximeter rate. Where no rate is specified, the taximeter rate shall be used; however, when a passenger requests transportation to a place of public gathering to which a special trip rate has been authorized, and a special trip rate, authorized and applicable, has been posted in accordance with the director's order, and such passenger has not specified the taximeter rate, the special trip rate shall be used. Taximeter rate may be demanded by the passenger or passengers upon entering the taxicab, and if so demanded immediately after entering the taxicab the taximeter rate must be used for that trip instead of special trip rates.
