§ 758-8. Removal of Abandoned Automobiles and Automobile Wreckage.

(a)

Any automobile that does not meet the definition of junk vehicle or any automobile wreckage abandoned on vacant premises without the consent of the owner of the property shall be removed from the property by the appropriate division or department of the city. Automobiles so abandoned shall be dealt with as in the case of automobiles abandoned on the city streets.

(b)

All expenses incurred by the city in removing abandoned automobiles or automobile wreckage from vacant premises pursuant to Section 758-8 shall be chargeable to the person unlawfully depositing such property on vacant premises. The charge shall equal the actual expense plus a 15 percent surcharge to cover supervision and other overhead expenses.
