§ 603-59. Horsemeat Dealer Not to Sell Other Meat.

  • No dealer in horsemeat or horsemeat products shall sell or handle any other kind of meat or meat products at dealer's store or place of business.

    Nothing in this section shall apply to the sale of horsemeat in a hermetically sealed container labeled so as to indicate it is for animal consumption, nor to the sale of horsemeat in a customarily prepared animal food package of dried or prepared biscuit; nor to the sale of chopped horsemeat decharacterized by the addition of not less than one half of 1 percent charcoal, thoroughly mixed with the chopped horsemeat, and labeled so as to plainly indicate it is for animal consumption.
