§ 306-19. Emergency Employee.

  • Whenever the appointing authority finds it necessary, in the interest of efficient administration, to hire a new employee in an established employment classification for a period of 30 days or less, the appointing authority is authorized to pay such employee on an hourly rate of compensation, such hourly rate to be equivalent to one-fortieth of the beginning weekly rate of the classification to which the employee has been appointed.

    An employee appointed on this hourly rate basis shall be paid only for hours actually worked, and, if such work includes overtime, the employer shall be compensated for such overtime as the department head may prescribe in accordance with Section 308-7, herein.
