§ 1219-45. Gas Shut-off Valves.

All gas appliances shall be provided with shut-off valves. Such valves shall be located between the appliance and the source of supply, as close as practicable to the vertical rise of the gas supply line and at a convenient point of general accessibility.

Multiple-family buildings with adjacent gas supply risers shall have the gas shutoff valve for each apartment identified by a plainly marked metal tag.
