§ 724-7. Security Required, Purpose.

Latest version.
  • The permit shall be issued only after security has been given to the city to ensure that the city equipment installed, adjusted or repositioned under the permit will be undamaged and fully operational. Such security shall be furnished in either of the two ways which follow:

    (a)

A cash deposit may be made with each application sufficient to cover the cost of inspection and of correction or completion of the work in case of unsatisfactory performance of the work by the permittee.

    (b)

A general deposit may be made, to be replenished from time to time and to constitute a running account against which permits may be issued, providing that no permit shall be issued when the net unencumbered balance in the account becomes less than the total of inspection costs and estimated costs or correction on compliance of work on all outstanding permits.

In the event of damage or excessive duration of service interruption of city equipment caused by the permittee or his contractor or subcontractor, or failure to complete the work authorized in the permit to the satisfaction of the director or his designee, the director or his designee may, at his discretion, cause the work to be completed by city forces, with all costs incurred by the city to be charged to the permittee's deposit.
