Upon enactment of a designation, the Clerk of Council has the duty to promptly notify
the Historic Conservation Board, the City Planning Commission, the Director of City
Planning, and the City Solicitor. The Urban Conservator has the duty to provide notice
of such designation in the City Bulletin. Once designated, a Historic Landmark, Historic
District or Historic Site shall be shown on the city's official zone map by the designation
"HL," "HD" or "HS" appended to the underlying zone designation. A Historic Landmark,
Historic District or Historic Site may be designated as an overlay on any other zoning
district or combined with any other overlay district.
