§ 1427-15. Noncommercial Signs.

  • (a)

    Notwithstanding any other provision of this code, a noncommercial sign shall be permitted in any zoning district in lieu of any sign permitted in the district on the same terms under which the substituted sign is permitted in the district.

    (b)

    Notwithstanding any other provision of this code, except Section 1427-09, "Prohibited Sign Types, Locations and Messages," one or more noncommercial signs may be displayed as ground, window or wall signs in any zone district on each street frontage with a maximum total sign face area for all sign faces visible from any point along the street frontage of 36 square feet. Where a sign has two or more display faces, the area of all faces of the sign shall be included in determining the area of the sign, unless the two faces are joined back to back, are parallel to each other, are of equal size and are not more than 16 inches apart, in which case one face shall be included in determining the area of the sign.
