"Hotel" means a facility with six or more guest rooms or suites designed for transient
habitation, where access to individual units is predominantly through a common lobby
that may provide additional services, such as conference and meeting rooms, restaurants,
bars or recreation facilities available to guests or to the general public. This classification
includes motor lodges, motels, hostels, extended stay hotels and tourist courts, but
does not include rooming houses, boarding houses or residential hotels that are used,
designed or intended to be used for sleeping for a period of 30 consecutive days or
longer.
