Chapter 1219. MISCELLANEOUS REGULATIONS |
§ 1219-25. Chimneys and Fireplaces.
(A)
All chimneys shall be examined periodically from the top of the building to the bottom, including attic and false attic spaces, and shall be maintained as follows:
(1)
Missing bricks and mortar shall be replaced as necessary;
(2)
Missing flue hole covers shall be replaced or the flue hole shall be closed in an approved manner;
(3)
Soot shall be removed at regular intervals.
(B)
All fireplaces burning solid fuel shall be provided with a protective screen.
