§ 1111-17. Special Precautions During Wrecking.

  • 1111-17.1 General: The director of buildings and inspections may require special precautions or procedures in certain situations, during the wrecking of buildings for the protection of the public or adjoining properties. Such situations include, but are not limited to, party wall situations, instances in which buildings on adjoining property are so located or are so designed that special care must be exercised in wrecking operations to maintain the structural stability or otherwise protect such buildings, and situations where street or sidewalk barricades or covered walkways shall be required for the protection of the public.

    1111-17.2 Basement or foundation holes: When any building is removed, the basement or foundation hole shall be filled with non-combustible material and the lot shall be graded, or upon approval of the director of buildings and inspections the owner shall provide and maintain a fence adequate to prevent injury to the public.
