§ 1107-29. Accidents Reported and Recorded

  • The owner of the building shall notify the director of buildings and inspections within 24 hours of their occurrence of every accident involving personal injury or damage to apparatus on or about or in connection with any equipment covered by this Article and shall afford the director of buildings and inspections every facility for investigating such accident. When an accident involves the failure, breakage, damage, or destruction of any part of the apparatus or mechanism, it shall be unlawful to use such device until after an examination by the director of buildings and inspections and approval of the equipment for continued use. It shall be the duty of the director of buildings and inspections to make a prompt examination into the cause of the accident and to enter a full and complete report thereof in the records of the building department. Such records shall be open for public inspection at all reasonable hours.
