§ 1101-42. Courtesy Inspections.

  • 1101-42.1 Program Authorization: The director is authorized to establish a program to provide courtesy inspections of existing commercial buildings. Any program so established shall provide that any person may request an inspection of an existing commercial building by submitting a complete application on forms specified by the director and by paying the required fee established pursuant to Section 1101-85 of this Chapter.

    1101-42.2 Pre-Development Inspections: The courtesy inspection program shall provide for inspections that ascertain whether an existing commercial building would require alterations, modifications, additions, repairs, or other improvements before it may be legally used for a particular type of occupancy. Any findings and determinations made by the director in connection with a courtesy inspection shall be provided for informational purposes only and shall not constitute an adjudication for the purposes of the CBC or the OBC; provided, however, that the director shall have the discretion and authority to issue orders and make adjudications pursuant to the CBC or the OBC based upon findings and determinations made in connection with a courtesy inspection.

    1101-42.3 Program Rules and Regulations: The director is hereby authorized to promulgate rules and regulations to carry out the purposes of this section.
