§ 723-73. Route for Oversize Loads.

  • No department or division of the city, nor any officer or employee, shall cause or authorize to be caused structures or fixtures, except removable traffic control devices, to be placed in, on or over the portion of the public streets comprising the route described herein which would reduce the vertical clearance to less than 18 feet, the horizontal clearance to less than 20 feet, and the minimum turning radius to less than existed on the streets as of July 1, 1968. The route to be so preserved for oversize load uses within the corporate limits of the City of Cincinnati shall be as follows:

    Beginning at the intersection of Vine Street and Anthony Wayne Avenue, along Vine Street to the corporation line of the city of Elmwood, along Spring Grove Avenue from the corporation line between the city of St. Bernard and the City of Cincinnati, thence continuing along Chickering Avenue, Este Avenue, Mitchell Avenue, Spring Grove Avenue, Ludlow Avenue, Jefferson Avenue, Nixon Street, Vine Street, Jefferson Avenue, Vine Street, McMicken Avenue, Walnut Street, Central Parkway, Eggleston Avenue, Broadway, Fifth Street, Main Street, over a ramp to Second Street, Second Street and its prolongation east of Broadway, Riverside Parkway to a 33 foot approach to the public landing just west of the Central Bridge approach, thence to the Ohio River via the public landing.

    Nothing herein shall be construed to alter or affect the provisions of Section 503-27 of this code, as it now is or as it may hereafter be amended, requiring the obtaining of a special permit for the transportation of excess loads over public streets, nor to alter or affect any other provisions of this code with respect to the use of public streets.
