§ 721-69. Sidewalk Construction, Specifications, Contract.

  • The city manager shall cause specifications to be prepared for the construction of the various kinds of sidewalk pavement, and shall submit them to council for approval. When the specifications have been approved, the city manager shall advertise for proposals to do all the work which may be ordered by the city in the construction and repair of sidewalks, and shall contract therefor, for a period not exceeding one year, with the lowest responsible bidder, who shall furnish good and sufficient sureties for the faithful performance of such work. If deemed advisable, the city manager may make separate contracts for the different parties and may divide the city into districts and make a separate contract or contracts as to each district.
