The notice provided for in Sections 721-149 and 721-151 shall identify the property and give the location of the sidewalk encroachment or
sidewalk and the period of time allowed the property owner to have the work done by
private contract. Such time shall be reasonable, but shall not be less than 30 days
from the date of service of notice or the mailing of the certified mail notice provided
for in Section 721-149. In the case of a street improvement requiring replacement or repair of the sidewalk
by the city, the notice shall give the time the work will be done and the amount owing
to the city from the property owner. The property owner shall not, in the case of
a street improvement, have the option of having the work done by private contract.
