§ 509-7. Unmetered Parking.

Latest version.
  • No person during hours of limited parking shall permit a vehicle to remain parked in a designated parking space while the parking meter for the space indicates that the car is illegally parked or if the vehicle does not conspicuously display a valid, unexpired receipt, whether the indication is the result of the failure to pay the required fee by any method accepted by such meter and operate the lever or other actuating device of the meter, or the result of the automatic operation of the meter following the expiration of the authorized parking time subsequent to the payment of the required fee by any method accepted by such meter at the time the vehicle was parked.

The fact that a vehicle is parked in a metered parking space during hours of limited parking either with the meter time signal showing no permitted parking or without conspicuously displaying a valid unexpired receipt shall be prima facie evidence that the vehicle has been parked at such space longer than the lawfully permitted parking period.
