§ 506-28. Backing.
Before backing, operators of vehicles shall give ample warning, and while backing shall exercise vigilance not to injure persons or property on the street or highway.
No person shall back any vehicle for a greater distance than is necessary to reach the nearest curb or to clear an obstruction to traffic.
No person shall back a motor vehicle on a freeway except in the performance of public works or official duties, or as a result of an emergency caused by an accident or breakdown of a motor vehicle.
