§ 503-43. Excessive Operation of an Engine Used to Power Private Passenger Automobiles, Motor Buses and Trucks While Stationary.

  • No person shall operate or permit the operation of the internal combustion engine of a private passenger vehicle, motor bus or truck for more than three consecutive minutes while the vehicle is stationary at a terminal or on a public highway or on a private or public parking lot or other outdoor location, except under the following conditions:

    (a)

    When the outdoor temperature goes below 32° Fahrenheit.

    (b)

    When the operation is necessary in the maintenance or repair of the engine, or in the safe operation of the vehicle.

    (c)

    When the operation of the engine is necessary to power a loading, unloading or processing device.
