§ 406-67. Full Stop at Railroad Crossings.

  • The driver of a motor bus shall bring such motor bus to a full and complete stop before crossing the track or tracks of any steam railroad, or any electric interurban railroad; such stop to be made not more than 75 feet from the nearest rail of the crossing, and at points where the clearest view of the approaching trains or locomotives or cars can be had. After making stops hereby required, the driver or operator of the motor bus shall carefully look in each direction for approaching trains or locomotive cars, and, if no train or locomotive or cars can be seen or heard approaching, shall then cross the said track or tracks with the transmission of the bus in not higher than second gear, in case of progressive or selective-type transmissions, or low gear in case of planetary transmissions.
