§ 308-27. Special Inspection Expenses.

  • Whenever, in connection with the carrying out of, or preparation for, a project involving new or unusual constructional or operational practices, or new or unusual equipment, the city manager, or other appointing authority, shall be of the opinion that it would be to the advantage of the city to have the department or division head in charge of the city project, or one or more of his subordinate officers, inspect similar projects in construction or operation at other places, the appointing authority shall be authorized to provide for the necessary expenses of any such officer or officers and for the preparation of a suitable report as to the project or projects inspected; provided that the sum to be expended for any such purposes shall not be in excess of appropriated funds available therefor.
