§ 306-40. Emblems of Office—Police and Fire Officers Killed in the Line of Duty.

  • The badge and service revolver of a member of the Cincinnati police division killed in the line of duty or active military duty shall be given, upon request, to the surviving spouse or if there is no surviving spouse, then to the personal representative of the estate of such police officer.

    The badge and badge number of any police officer who is killed in the line of duty or active military duty shall be retired from use by the Cincinnati police division.

    The badge and fire helmet of a member of the Cincinnati fire division killed in the line of duty or active military duty shall be given, upon request, to the surviving spouse or if there is no surviving spouse, then to the personal representative of the estate of such fire fighter.

    The badge and badge number of any fire fighter who is killed in the line of duty or active military duty shall be retired from use by the Cincinnati fire division.
