Chapter 306. GENERAL COMPENSATION PROVISIONS |
§ 306-32. Monthly Transportation Plans.
Notwithstanding the limitations provided by Section 306-31, when a city employee's responsibilities require that the employee be available for service without regard for normal operating schedules:
(a)
The city manager may authorize payment of a reasonable monthly allowance to any administrative official or other designated employee for the use of the employee's private vehicle in the performance of city duties;
(b)
The city manager or the person designated to act by the city manager may authorize employees to use a city vehicle on a 24-hour basis in accordance with regulations issued by the city manager:
(1)
Provided the employee pays to the city a reasonable monthly allowance as fixed by the director of finance for the use of the vehicle on routine trips to and from work; or
(2)
Free of charge if the vehicle is used or likely to be used to respond to emergencies for the city.
