  • No person in the administrative service shall directly or indirectly give, solicit or receive, or in any manner be concerned in giving, soliciting or receiving any assessment, subscription or contribution for any political party to be used in a city of Cincinnati municipal election, or in support of or in opposition to any candidate for election to the office of mayor or member of council of the city of Cincinnati. This section shall not be construed to limit any person's right as a citizen to express opinions or to cast a vote, nor shall it be construed to prohibit any person from active participation in political campaigns at any other level of government, including an individual's right to seek elective office. Any violation of this section shall operate to forfeit the office or position held by the person violating the same and shall render any such person ineligible to any municipal office or position for a period of one year.
