§ 2. Appointment Categories and Priorities

  • Employees shall be laid off in the order set forth in this section within the primary appointment categories of part time probationary, part time permanent, full time probationary, full time permanent. Whenever a reduction in force is necessary within each of the primary appointment categories, temporary, then permanent employees within the employing unit within the classification series shall be laid off in the following order:

    A. Temporary appointed employees;

    B. Permanent appointed employees still on probation;

    C. Permanent appointed employees who have successfully completed probation;

    Within each of the above categories, part time employees (i.e. less than 75 percent work time) must be laid off before full time employees within the employing unit within the classification series.
