§ 4.2. Special Meetings

  • Special meetings of the council may be called by the clerk of council at the request of two members upon 24 hours notice to each member. The call for the meeting shall state the time, date, location and subjects to be considered at the meeting and shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation. No other subject shall be discussed except upon the approval of a majority of council.

    A special meeting may be canceled as follows upon request of the members of council calling the special meeting. The clerk shall notify all members of the council of the proposed cancellation and upon the acquiescence of five members, the meeting shall be canceled. In the event the acquiescence of five members is not received, the meeting shall be held as scheduled. The media shall be notified of any cancellation.
