§ 2. Term; Board Leadership and Duties; Membership

  • A. Term. The term of the Board shall be for a full calendar year commencing on January 1 and ending on December 31 ("Term"). The term for each individual Board member shall be determined by the Administrative Code.

    B. Selection of Board Leadership. The following leadership positions shall be elected at the first regularly scheduled meeting of each Term by a majority vote of the Board: (i) Chair; and (ii) Vice-Chair.

    C. Duties of the Chair. The duties of the Chair shall be:

    1. To preside at all regularly scheduled and special hearings of the Board;

    2. To decide all points of procedure, unless otherwise directed by a majority vote of the Board; and

    3. To sign written decisions of the Board.

    D. Duties of the Vice-Chair. The Vice-Chair shall assume all of the duties of the Chair in the Chair's absence, disqualification, or incapacity.

    E. Secretary. The secretary for the Board ("Secretary") shall be an employee of the City of Cincinnati Department of City Planning and Buildings. The Secretary shall be the point of contact between the Board and the public and the Board and City staff. The Secretary shall have the specific duties set forth herein.

    F. Absence of Board Leadership. In the absence of the Chair and the Vice-Chair at a hearing, a majority of the Board members present at that hearing shall elect a temporary Chair who shall assume the role of the Chair solely for purposes of that hearing.

    G. Membership. The membership of the Board shall be governed by Art. XXV, § 8 of the Administrative Code.

    H. Alternate Members. If permitted by the Administrative Code, an alternate member may serve in the absence or disqualification of a regular member in accordance with the Administrative Code.
